Why Generative Artificial Intelligence?

After reading and watching lots of material on making, training and responsibly creating AI Art, I decided to start this project for several reasons:

1. I love Generative Art and Platonic Solids :)
2. Learn and explore the generative potential of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning.
3. Push myself to create my own datasets.

Why this page?

One thing that bothers me with AI Art is that sometimes there's no transparency on how those final images were generated. For some projects I agree that the database is not the main focus of the work, but I think it's nice and didatic to open the process for others that are interested on how things were made. On this page I'll share the original datasets and the results for each iteration of this ongoing exploration.

Code used

I'm currently using StyleGAN2-ADA to train and generate these outputs. Special thanks to Derrick Schultz and Lia Coleman for sharing such good material on how to create Artificial Images using machine learning.

🌴💎 Clean NFTs 💎🌴

In order to support my research and practice, I'm tokenizing the process and results of this exploration on the Tezos blockchain. The images with 💎 or ❌ above them are linked to their page in the hicetnunc.xyz platform.
Feel free to send me some Tezos love 💌.

Gen 0 - Platonic Solids Dataset

Each animation has 250 frames. So, in total, this first dataset is comprised of 2500 images of these rotating Platonic Solids.

Gen 0 - Results

Although the dataset is quite small, one could say that the generated images are overfitted, since most of them look pretty much like the dataset:

BUT, if you look closely, there are some little gems in there, like these ones:

I love how the colors mix together and how the edges get smudged and irregular. The reflecion is something that intrigues me, I don't know if it's just trying to actually reflect the solid above it or if it's trying to predict the future.

But if we mess around with some parameters for the generation of new images, then things start to get interesting. After generating hundreds and hundreds of images I cherry picked the ones I liked the most. Each of them are special in their own way. Hope you appreciate them as well.
